The first commercial tenants have signed onto Pura Vida Hialeah, a mixed-use project that would replace a trailer park.
The city approved the project on the 9-acre site at 2901 W. 16th Ave. The developer is a joint venture between Coral Rock Development Group and Arena Capital Holdings.
Coral Rock was recently formed when Pinnacle Housing Group partner Michael Wohl teamed with Stephen A. Blumenthal, David Brown and Victor Brown.
Pura Vida Hialeah is slated for 260 apartments in three eight-story buildings, plus 51,000 square feet of commercial space. About 74 percent of the commercial space is pre-leased, with a Wawa service station and food store, Dollar Tree, YouFit Health Club and Taco Bell already committed.
“A lot of younger people grew up in Hialeah and had to leave the city to find housing,” Wohl said. “With the YouFit and the restaurants and a Wawa, we hope this project will bring them back.”
